Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about BTC-ASIA escrow service.
How do I create an account and get started?
Click "Register" in the top navigation, enter your username, email, and password. Verify your email via the link sent to your inbox. Once verified, you can immediately create or participate in escrow transactions. From your dashboard you can view active escrows, access support tickets, and manage your security settings.
How do I create an escrow transaction?
Click "Start Escrow" and follow the three-step wizard. Step 1: Choose your role, Buyer (you pay) or Seller (you get paid). Select a product type (Physical Item, Digital Product, Crypto Exchange, Service, Domains, Site/App) and delivery method (Shipping, Download, Email, In-person, Platform Transfer). Step 2: Enter the amount, currency (crypto or fiat), counterparty details, and delivery terms. Step 3: Review everything and confirm with the math captcha. If you are a seller inviting an unregistered buyer, enter their email, they will receive an invitation to register and accept.
What fees does BTC-ASIA charge?
We charge a flat 2% escrow fee, capped at $500. There are no hidden fees, no monthly charges, and no setup costs. Cancellation before funding is completely free. Most transactions are in USD, so no conversion fee applies. The fee is deducted from the released amount.
What cryptocurrencies and payment methods do you support?
We support a wide range of cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Monero (XMR), Litecoin (LTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Dash (DASH), Zcash (ZEC), and Binance Coin (BNB). For fiat payments we support USD, EUR, GBP, JPY and many more through integrated payment providers like Revolut Pay and MoonPay. You can also pay directly with crypto from any wallet.
How does funding an escrow work?
Once the escrow is accepted, a unique payment address is generated for that specific transaction. The buyer sends the exact amount of cryptocurrency to this address. The system automatically monitors the blockchain and updates the escrow status once sufficient confirmations are received. You can track the confirmation progress on the escrow page.
How does the release process and inspection period work?
After the seller marks the order as delivered, an inspection period begins, typically 72 hours (3 days). During this time the buyer can inspect the product or service. If satisfied, the buyer can release the funds to the seller by entering their 4-digit PIN (and 2FA code if enabled). Release is instant once confirmed. If the buyer does not act within the inspection period, the funds may be automatically released to the seller. If there is a problem, the buyer should open a dispute before the deadline expires.
How does the invitation system work?
If you are a seller and your buyer is not yet registered on BTC-ASIA, you can create the escrow and enter their email address. The buyer receives a notification email with a link to register and accept the escrow. Until they register, their profile shows an "(invited)" badge and has no trust score. Once registered, they can accept the escrow, fund it, and the transaction proceeds normally. Similarly, a buyer creating an escrow for an unregistered seller follows the same process.
What happens if there is a dispute?
Either party can open a dispute while the escrow is in funded status. The buyer has a 72-hour inspection period after the seller confirms delivery to open a dispute. Both parties can submit evidence, screenshots, transaction IDs, photos, tracking information, communication records, and any other relevant documentation. Our experienced mediation team reviews all evidence impartially. Most disputes are resolved within 48–72 hours after all evidence is submitted. The decision is final and binding, funds are either released to the seller or refunded to the buyer.
What is two-factor authentication (2FA) and how do I enable it?
Two-factor authentication (TOTP) adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you will need both your password and a time-based code from an authenticator app (like Google Authenticator or Authy) to log in. It is also required alongside your 4-digit PIN when releasing funds or opening a dispute. You can set up 2FA from the Security page in your Profile settings. To disable it, you must confirm your current 2FA code and password.
What is the 4-digit PIN and why do I need it?
The 4-digit PIN is a security measure required for sensitive actions, releasing funds to the seller and opening a dispute. You set your PIN when creating your account and can change it anytime from the Security page in your Profile. If 2FA is enabled, you will need to enter both your PIN and your 2FA code to perform these actions. The PIN ensures that even if someone gains access to your account, they cannot release funds or open disputes without it.
How do I change my password or update my security settings?
All security settings are managed from the Security page in your Profile. There you can change your password, update your 4-digit PIN, and enable or disable 2FA (TOTP). You will need to confirm your current password for any changes. For 2FA-related changes, you will also need to provide your current 2FA code.
How does the support ticket system work?
You can create a support ticket from the Support page. Choose a category, write your message, and submit it. Each ticket receives a unique reference ID (e.g., "AB12CD34EF") which you can use to track its status. Our support team will respond directly on the ticket page, and you will receive email notifications when there are new replies. You can view all your active and closed tickets from the support dashboard.
Do you require KYC or identity verification?
No. BTC-ASIA does not require KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. We prioritize your privacy and believe in financial freedom. You can use our escrow service completely anonymously, no ID documents, no proof of address, no selfies. Your email is the only personal information we need to create and manage your account.
How do I cancel an escrow?
An escrow can be cancelled by either party before it is funded. Simply go to the escrow page and click the cancel button. You will need to confirm with your PIN (and 2FA if enabled). Cancellation before funding is completely free. Once the escrow has been funded, cancellation is no longer possible, you must go through the dispute process instead.
